Gallipoli is a well-known ancient town in Southern Italy and a beach resort on the Ionian coast of Salento. Its name derives from the Greek “kalle polis” which means “beautiful town”. It is composed of two different areas: the modern one situated on a promontory, and the other one, which is a colourful medieval village, built on a little island extending into the Ionian Sea, where there are several churches and a little museum in the maze of narrow streets. The Angioin castle dominates the island.
The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel Costa Brada, located along the sandy shores of Gallipoli.
