Research Group On Intelligent Interfaces

Home Research People Meetings Projects

To be intelligent, interfaces must employ some form of knowledge-based reasoning in their behaviour. They can do this to several aims, and in several ways:

  • they can adapt to the user,
  • they can be able to generate natural language or multimedia messages,
  • they can decide, autonomously, when to activate themselves and how to respond to the (presumed) user needs,
  • they can consider user personality and emotions and behave 'believably' in their turn,

We wish to contribute to research on these topics.

Our competences and means are limited, but we may rely on some high-level and friendly cooperations.

This laboratory is in memory of, and dedicated to, Fiorella de Rosis

She was international leader in the fields of user modeling, personalization, intelligent interfaces and of modelling affect and emotion in embodied agents.

The scholars who had the privilege to know Fiorella and to work with her, intend to preserve the laboratory she built at the end of nineties in the Department of Informatics.
